STOP THE NEWARK HELIPORT
The red block at the top of the map
indicates the location of the proposed
heliport in Newark.

Roughly, the heliport would be located
about 2 miles north of Harrison, directly
west of the intersection of Passiac and
Midland Avenues.

This heliport, if built, would drastically
increase noise pollution in the area.

We already have to deal with the air
traffic landing and taking off from
Newark Liberty International Airport and
Teterboro Airport.

Do we really want to deal with more?
Route 21
Grafton Avenue
Passaic River
Air Pegasus Metro Heliplex would be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, 365 days a year.  It will include a pilots' lounge, shower facility,
hangars so helicopters can permenetally be based there, and a training
center amongst other amenities.  Not only will there be commercial flights
operating from the site, the Newark Police Department's Aviation
Department will also operate from the heliport.  Training of pilots on how to
fly helicopters will also take place - students flying directly above our homes.

New Jersey has over 350 heliports, do we really need another?  With
Newark Liberty International Airport so close, the skies above us will
become increasingly more crowded, and unsafe.

The Coalition of Friends to Stop the Newark Heliplex is circulating a
petition to stop the building of the heliport.  I've signed the petition, and I urge
you to sign the petition as well.

You can sign it in person at Pepita's Beauty Salon, located on Harrison
Avenue in Harrison between South Fifth and Washington Streets, or you may
e-mail me at Joe@harrisonmeetings.com and I will be more than happy to
forward you the information sent to me by the Coalition.  You can also visit
their website:
Stop the Newark Heliport.

Together, let's keep the skies over us safe.
